About Bihar Calendar
Bihar Calendar is made for people who grew up with Chhath ghats, Saraswati pandals and dahi-chura on Sakraat — whether they live in Patna or in Pune.
What we do
We publish a clean, fast calendar with the dates Bihar actually uses: Purnimanta months, udaya tithi, and the regional festivals that national calendars skip — Chaurchan, Jitiya, Sama-Chakeva, Madhushravani, Satuani.
How dates are made
Sun and Moon positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris with Lahiri ayanamsa. Tithi, nakshatra and yoga are taken at sunrise in Patna (25.59°N, 85.14°E). Festival rules are coded from the shastric definitions, then checked against published panchangs and the Bihar government holiday notification. Read our editorial policy.
Independent
We are not connected with the Government of Bihar. For official holidays, the state notification is final. If you spot an error, please tell us through the contact page.
